About
A son of the Prophet ﷺ and Khadīja, born in Makkah after the revelation had begun, and so called al-Ṭayyib, 'the good', and al-Ṭāhir, 'the pure'. Some genealogists count these as two further sons; most hold them to be bynames of ʿAbdullāh alone. He died in infancy. The tafsīr tradition links the deaths of the Prophet's ﷺ sons to the taunt that he was 'cut off' (abtar), to which sūrah al-Kawthar (108) answers that it is his enemy who is cut off.
The name
'Servant of Allah'.
al-Ṭayyib and al-Ṭāhir — 'the good' and 'the pure', bynames given because he was born after the revelation began
